Over the past 11 tournaments the JWMHT has raised over $510 000 in support of cancer care at the Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville Ontario. In addition, the tournament has provided support to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Hospice Dufferin, The Humboldt Broncos and Honeywood Minor Hockey.
Teams of hockey moms, over the age of 30, play in a 3 game round-robin format in two skill categories: Non-Competitive and Competitive. Teams are welcome to apply and individuals can join a team as well. It is about the fun and the cause!
The 12th annual tournament remembers Jennifer Widbur, a young hockey mom who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2007. We play in this tournament to enjoy the game she loved, and to help others in our community who are experiencing their own battles with this disease.
