What a way to remember Jennifer: Our friend, our mom, our sister, our daughter, our wife.
Over the past 12 tournaments the JWMHT has raised over $612 000 in support of cancer care at the Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville Ontario. In addition, the tournament has provided support to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Hospice Dufferin, The Humboldt Broncos and Honeywood Minor Hockey.
Teams of hockey moms, over the age of 30, played in a 3 game round-robin format in two skill categories: Non-Competitive and Competitive. It has been about the fun and the cause!
The 12th annual tournament remembered Jennifer Widbur, a young hockey mom who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2007. We played in this tournament to enjoy the game she loved, and to help others in our community who are experiencing their own battles with this disease.
